With the recent era of computer technology, cross-country marriages between the west and Russia have become more. In some online communication forums, the American women display utter disappointment towards their men for this worrying tendency. On the other hand, men are laying blame back to American women claiming that they have become too ‘artificial.’ Ladies are undergoing numerous cosmetic surgeries in a bid to make themselves appear more attractive. American men despise this trend claiming that it is very costly and also indicates some sense of immaturity in the women, who can’t look up to anything else rather than their physical appearance. Women of the US further claim their men also show clear desperation by marrying blonde Russian women who would love them simply because of bringing them to the US.  

Nevertheless, American men should be careful when looking for Russian brides via internet sites because there are numerous scam sites that are only interested in taking away their hard-earned money. Research shows that despite harsh living conditions in Russia, majority of the women still feel more comfortable in the country than in foreign lands. They pose as potential marriage partners so as to entice people into sending money to them in the pretence of flight fare to the US. Women from America and the Soviet Union each have their own positive and undesirable characteristics which men tend to balance before choosing who to marry between the two. American women are very opinionated and always driven by an urge towards success. The US women are also very domineering and may not be submissive to their husbands in terms of fulfilling duties and responsibilities generally accepted to be done by them. For instance, washing dishes or cleaning the house may be rejected by some American wives who claim that these two chores are derogatory. Russian women are taught how to be respectful and submissive to their husbands and would accept to do any chore as long as it does not hurt them in any way, either emotionally or physically. 

Moving on, lots of naïve Russian ladies believe that by marrying American men, they stand a chance of rising to Hollywood stardom. They are willing to risk everything including their safety just to marry an American man who they only met online. This is a dangerous trend for these women as some conniving men can use their ignorance and desperation to benefit themselves.
